After the victory at the season start in Hockenheim and on the Lausitzring, the Mercedes AMG DTM team also won the first race in Budapest. The Scotsman Paul Di Resta was able to move from the 13th position on the grid to the front. He benefited from a safety car phase and crowned the strong performance during the one-hour race with his eighth race win in the DTM.
In the second race at the Hungaroring it was not quite as planned, but three of the six Mercedes AMG DTM drivers have been able to score championship points. After the first six DTM races of the 2017 season, Lucas Auer is only one point behind the Audi driver René Rast and will try to take back the lead in the championship in two weeks at the famous DTM weekend at the Norisring in Nürnberg/Germany.
